Peter Joined AT Clayton in October 2012 as the President of the company. He was named CEO of the holding company, IRH in May 2013 upon the retirement of the companies prior owner, Mark Vallely.
Peter has over 20 years of experience in the paper industry. He began his career in fine paper sales in 1991 with Champion International, selling paper primarily to publishers and catalogue companies in the Northeast.
In 1996 he became the Director of the Hewlett Packard business unit inside of Champion, as a result of gaining an exclusive licensing agreement to manufacture, market, and sell HP branded paper in the US, South America, and Europe. Over the course of 4 years, Peter was successful in growing the business to over $100 million in sales.
In 1999, Champion was acquired by International Paper. After a short time at IP, Peter was appointed Vice President of Business Papers for Weyerhaeuser Corporation, responsible for the business unit totaling $500 million of sales. The business grew as a result of the acquisition of Willamette Industries in 2002 and the merger with Domtar in 2007 resulting in the largest player in the cutsize market with annual sales exceeding $1.8 billion dollars. Peter was successful in transforming the business making it the most profitable paper division inside of Domtar. He also was responsible for expanding Domtar’s business internationally opening up offices in the UK and Germany.
In 2012, Peter was appointed Vice President of Domtar’s Pulp business prior to leaving to run AT Clayton.
Peter received a BA of Accountancy from Villanova University in 1991 and attended the General Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2008. Peter lives in CT with his wife and 5 children.
Michael J. McLaughlin - Chief Financial Officer
Mike has 40 years of business experience. He started his career with Ernst & Young as an auditor. Mike has experience in several different industries including manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, transportation, construction, renewable energy and printing paper. He has over 15 years of experience at Intragrated Resources Holding, Inc. – A.T. Clayton & Co.
Mike has a BS from Manhattan College, an MBA from St. John’s University and a JD from Pace School of Law. He is a CPA and Admitted to the Bar in NY.
Eric Sullivan - Chief Operating Officer
Eric joined A. T. Clayton in June 2013 as Chief Operating Officer, after a successful career with Willamette Industries, Weyerhaeuser, and Domtar Inc., beginning in 2001. Eric held various positions within these companies, culminating with his appointment in January 2010 as Director of Sales Operations for the Business Papers division within Domtar. Eric’s mill background, combined with his leadership, collaborative skills, and open communication style make him an ideal contributor to the A. T. Clayton management team.
Eric is a graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Eric holds a BA degree in History. Eric began his career in education prior to joining the paper industry.
Jane Harness - Vice President, Human Resources and Legal Affairs
Jane joined A.T. Clayton in September of 2013, after 20 years as a practicing attorney in Connecticut. Her depth of experience across a variety of disciplines lends both versatility and expertise to IRH’s Human Resources and Legal Departments.
Jane graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in psychology, and holds a J.D. from Pace School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Fairfield County Bar Association.
Bill Driscoll - President of Sales
Bill joined A.T. Clayton in 1988 and became president in 1998. He started his career with Procter & Gamble and Smithkline-Beecham in Marketing and Brand Management.
Throughout his career at A.T. Clayton, Bill has focused his attention on the coated paper market.
A graduate of Hamilton College, Bill is an avid outdoorsman and has two sons.
After 9 years in paper distribution business, Bill joined A.T. Clayton over 20 years ago and immediately turned his focus toward the direct mail market. During his tenure, Bill has managed paper programs for the largest direct mail companies in North America. He is instrumental in developing and executing strategic and unique paper contracts, maintaining mill relations, and overseeing day-to-day management of paper flow.
Bill holds a BA degree in History/Political Science from Iona College and a Masters Degree in Corporate Communications from Fairfield University.
Bill joined A.T. Clayton in 1999 and has over 25 years of experience in the paper industry providing catalog, magazine and direct mail companies with strategic long-term paper sourcing solutions.
Prior to joining ATC, Bill worked with paper distributors C.H. Robinson, W.W.F Paper, and Gould Paper in their National Sales division.
Bill graduated from Merrimack College with a B.S. In Business Administration.
Dave Schmerzler - Vice President of Sales
Dave brings over 20 years of experience to the A.T. Clayton sales team. He started in the paper industry at Websource in 1991 selling to end-users in the Catalog, Magazine and Retail segments of the business.
Dave joined A.T. Clayton in 2001 after serving as VP of Sales at Midland Paper in the Northeast from 1997 to 2001. He has focused on providing clients an outsourced solution for their program needs utilizing both print procurement consulting and managed paper services.
Dave is a 1987 graduate of Syracuse University holding a B.A. in Political Science.
Don Bergen - President, A.T. Clayton West
Don joined A.T. Clayton as President in October 2013 and leads the company's efforts in the Western United States.
After working at a prominent San Francisco Law Firm in the mid 1990's, Don began a robust 17-year sales career at RR Donnelley, the world's largest graphics arts and printing company with annual sales in excess of $10 Billion. While at RR Donnelley, Don sold more than $500 Million in business while being honored as both "Sales Representative of the Year" and "Sales Rookie of the Year" during his tenure.
Don, has a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Oregon and is an avid "Duck" fan. A West Coast native, Don resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Karyn and three children.
Francis Donelan - Vice President of Sales
Francis has been a member of the A.T. Clayton sales team for over 20 years. His market knowledge, strong paper producer partnerships, and program management experience are the key factors why many customers turn to Francis with their business challenges.
Francis continues to grow and enhance both current and prospective clients with the strategic platform offerings available from A.T. Clayton, J.S. Eliezer Associates, and Continuum.
Francis graduated from Providence College in Rhode Island with a B.A. in History.
John joined A.T. Clayton in 1998, focusing on direct mail and magazine organizations. Prior to joining ATC, John had a 22-year career at Xpedx /Bulkley Dunton serving the commercial print and publishing market. While at Xpedx, John was named Vice President Commercial Sales, was member of the President Council, and was recognized eight times as an Xpedx top sales producer.
John holds a BA in Economics and Political Science at CCSU.
John has been a member of the A.T. Clayton sales team for over 20 years. During that period, he has been involved primarily in the development of enterprise paper program solutions. Building relationships across the fine paper producer landscape has been a key attribute that John brings forward for the benefit of client and mill.
John’s experience covers paper requirement needs across a broad set of the market including marketing collateral, publishing, catalogs and direct mail marketing.
Developing enterprise solutions that are both sustainable and practical is John's key focus.
Mike started in the paper industry in 1981 with Boise Cascade, holding various positions in Sales, Sales Management and Marketing. In 1987, he joined James River as Marketing Manager to help launch the newly formed Carbonless Paper Division.
Mike has been with A.T. Clayton since 1989 and focuses on sales of publication grades to magazine publishers, catalogers, direct mailers and retailers.
Mike graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Business Administration.
Sara has over 18 years of experience in the Paper and Print Industries. Prior to joining ATC, Sara began her career as a Paper Buyer for Brown Printing Company. In 2000, Sara accepted a role with Mead Paper Corporation in New Business Development.
This multi-faceted history has allowed Sara to incorporate a background in procurement, manufacturing and printing, into ATC. Her background uniquely qualifies Sara to provide the prospective paper client with a broad-based knowledge of best buying practices.
Sara graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.A. in economics.
Jason has over 18 years of experience in the paper industry. He began his career in fine paper sales in 1994 with Champion International Paper. In 1996, while working for Champion International Paper, Jason was named the Hewlett Packard National Sales Manager for the Contract and Wholesale Stationer Channel.
In 2001, Jason partnered with former colleagues to develop an import agent business focused on the sales and marketing of uncoated papers from Europe. Over a 6 year period Jason and his colleagues built a market leading import business, exceeding $100M in annual sales. In 2007, the business was sold to grupo Portucel Soporcel. At the conclusion of the acquisition, Jason continued to work with gPS in roles as Sales Manager and General Manager of the North American market.
Jason joined A.T. Clayton in 2013 as the President of the newly formed A.T.C. Solutions division, focused on the sales of uncoated papers. Jason is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan holding a B.A. degree in Political Science.
Dave joined A.T. Clayton in April, 2013. Dave previously worked for Willamette Industries, Weyerhaeuser and Domtar for 29 years. He started in Minneapolis as a District Sales Manager and later was promoted to National Sales Manager for the Enterprise Group. Dave graduated from the University of Minnesota and now resides in North Carolina.
